SpeedFactory Racing is proud to release our own high-performance Honda D-Series VTEC MLS head gasket!
These MLS gaskets have been purpose-built to provide an excellent seal on ALL SOHC D-Series VTEC applications, from factory setups to high compression / nitrous / turbocharged / supercharged engines.
Most turbo D-Series SOHC VTEC enthusiasts utilize a stock engine block & cylinder head with upgraded internal components, generating power levels in the 200-500whp range. Upgraded head studs are a must, but many still struggle with head gasket sealing issues. For these D16 applications, adding a stopper ring provides enough additional sealing stress around the cylinders for a reliable combustion seal. If running beyond the ~500whp range a sleeved block with O-rings is recommended.
The 0.036” gasket thickness makes up for cylinder head and block surfacing vs the OEM 3-layer 0.028” thickness and allows us to utilize a 4-layer design with specialized embossments that increase active combustion sealing height, ideal for high output engines that experience high levels of head lift/movement. We’ve also incorporated a unique internal silicone bead on the oiling passages for improved sealing.
